Plagues and Epidemics
In the year 1900 twenty thousand British soldiers were camped on 'Terry's Hills' near Aglish, Co. Waterford. It is said that they ate bad meat and got interic fever. Before many had died they were removed to Co. Kildare. For some time after all eatables in the district had to be boiled before using.
In 1918 and 1936 many people died with the epidemic influenza. - In the year 1902 at Dungarvan Harbour, a ship belonging to Mrs. Moloney, Grattan St., Dungarvan named 'The Mowers Bee' (note from transcriber -'The Moresby') was coming in(leanann ar an chéad leathanach eile)
