  1. The big house in Clover Valley belonged wan time to an ould Captain. It belongs to Parles now. The place was always said to be haunted.
One of the Parles was dying there wan time; and the people of the house were expecting Dr. Cardiff. They heard a carriage & horses pull up on the gravel in front of the hall door, and turning around and stopping.
"There's the doctor" says one of them. They went out and there was no wan in it. The doctor didn't come for two hours after that. And the person died that night.
