  1. I know the Barony of Forth and the kind of people that lived in as well as I know any white man. Me father lived there for years. They were an industrious and pious people and the land was very good, the have best and they used to raise beans in plenty and plenty of tobacco used be grown there in my own time, and plenty aye many of them tobacco sheds are there still. I often hear me father say that in the summer time all the people would go to bed after their dinner and sleep for at least two hours and a half, that is the time when you couldn't do anything with the head of the sun and the flies. Even the hens and all the domestic animals would go to sleep and wouldn't waken again until the woman of the house would jump up and say "Its all hours."
    The Barony of Forth people lived very well and it is said that even the poorest had five meals in the day. Moreover they were scarcely ever seen outside
