    This is a song that was composed by a local poet...

    This is a song that was composed by a local poet or supposed to be at any rate, about an inquest that was held over a man named Paddy Mullowney. He got drunk and he hurt himself and was given up as dead but was not really dead but the inquest went on so this song was composed about him.

    Twas Paddy Mullowney, so golly and frisky.
    Went into Ashekeen to get his sack full
    But tumbled out again well dosed with ould whiskey.
    As silly as an old ass and as blind as a fool.

    But abit of an accident met with our rover
    Who struck the wall's edge with the side of his head
    And the lid of a coal box he just tumbled over
    And he fancied the while he was going
