    It being in the month of October
    In the year 188-, as I'm told
    As we straight took out way from Bork city
    The weather blew freezy, and cold
    When we came into sweet Ballyvoutney
    We were weary and tired from the road
    Our breakfast, we quickly did order
    And some grog for to warm our bones.

    As we passed, by the mills, in that morning
    It commenced, in the form of joke.
    Between O' Shea the brave leader of carmen
    Whom bonnor, to walk, did oppose
    With their steeds, full of speed, in good order
    From the brilliant, fine harvest good oats
    Twas in a gallop, they cleared over Barlin
    With a ton in each car, and some more.
