  1. When St Patrick left Aughagower he went to Croagh Patrick. On his way to Croagh Patrick he blessed a well at Pat Kain's. He spent forty days on Croagh Patrick praying and fasting.
    There was supposed to be serpents on it and St Patrick banished them into a lake beside it. Since that time it has been called Croagh Patrick.
