    frog it squeaks at you and it is said that is is cursing you.
    The Fox: The fox is like a dog. It is dark red in colour and has a big bushy tail. It is very clever. It always lives in a whinny glen near a rushy field so that it can escape from the dogs in the rushes when it is chased. The fox eats fowl and rabbits. In the snow men hunt the fox so they can follow its tracks in the snow. When they come to the den they dig it out and kill it. The foxes inly chance is to escape in the snow is to cross a field of stubble where its tracks cannot be traced. It is said that when a rabbit becomes infested with vermin it gets a piece of wool in its mouth and back very slowly into a river or stream. As the water rises along its body, the vermin move towards the head until in the end the fox leaves only the piece of wool exposed about the surface. The vermin go out on to the wool and immediately the fox releases it and lets it be swept down stream. A fox carries a fowl by.
