“There was an old house on the top of Corryholman hill and there was school taught in it.”

Mrs Glen was the teacher and she came down to teach from Ballyhea in a trap. There was another school at Dunacre near Kingscourt. The masters name was Master Carroll from Cornavan.- Edenagully school was built in the year 1838. There was a man named Edward Curran as a night watch-man. He got home the night of the big wind on his hands and knees. When he was coming home he met a man on horse-back and he was wearing a high hat.
The first teacher was Master Curran. He had ten pounds yearly. The second teacher was Master Clarke. He had fifteen pounds yearly.
