  1. In the townland of Enagh, Virginia county Cavan there is an old Windmill and running along side of it is a lane which in olden times was a great pass from the South West of Ireland to Dundalk.
It started in the South of Galway and went through part of Roscommon and Westmeath. Then it came into Meath at Oldcastle and from there through Cavan and Monaghan to Dundalk.
As there were no roads in those days this was one of the principal paths leading from one town to another. It was a very narrow path but it suited the people of that time as they chiefly travelled on horseback or on foot.
