    When passing by the road, one day, where their pig used to forage he saw the huge animal tearing at the grass, along the roadside. He was seated on a sidecar and gave the animal a slash of the whip. When the animal felt the smart of the whip he dashed out under the horse's feet and upset the horse and vehicle into the griper. The gauger fell under the car and was almost dead when he was eventually taken from under it, for the people were in no big hurry going to his rescue. Shortly after this event this man was mortally wounded at Kells market. He seized a bundle of yarn in the hands of a woman. The woman held on to the yarn and wrangled with him to retain possession of it. He pulled at the yarn and forced the woman out the market gate he slipped and fell to the ground with several people on top of him who went to the help of the distressed woman.
    During the hot Summer of 1826 there was a police barrack at Moynalty. Two of the police went out one evening by the Bilywood road. They outspent their patrol time gossiping and were returning hurridly to the barracks when they saw the pig by the roadside. They had now something to account for their delay so they decided to drive the pig to the pound. The pig went peaceably so long as he knew the road but when he thought he was far enough he bolted homewards. The crossed the ditch
