    A local clan now extinct named 'The Keaney's' were Fenians and had a very strong tradition.

He was a disciple of Vera Foster and took up the business of official letter writer for his illiterate neighbours. He had the knack of getting in with nobs - or big fellows as they were locally called - he was a pine lather and always talked big as when ever he went away from home he was always mistaken for a great gentleman.
