    1798
Near our place in Munfin, are the ruins of a house which belonged to the family of Mullroney.
During the troubled time of 1798 a battle was fought in Bunclody on a certain fair day there.
An old man and his daughter who lived in this house were about five miles from the town
The man went to transact some business in the fair and he got shot.
His daughter wondering what delayed him, went to the town looking for him.
She also got shot by a stray bullet on the Ryland road.
They were the last of the Mullruneys.
