    This school was built on land belonging to farmers called "Ralph" who live close by.
    The family have this story from their great-grandfather who lived in 1798.
    Joseph Ralph was chased by the yoemen and he had to hide in a large hole or a burrow in a ditch near where the school is now.
    Food had to be taken to him unknown to the yoemen and for three or four days he remained hidden till they had cleared out of the vicinity.
    Mr Ralph was not caught but escaped to tell the tale.

    Charlesfort is a place about half a mile from the school. In 1798 there was a gentleman by the name of Dawson residing in Charlesfort.
    He was sitting in his room when the insurgents came. Among them was a man named Bolger who had a great aim. The blinds were drawn on the windows of the room in which Dawson was sitting. Bolger was watching carefully.
    At last he saw a shadow. He said "if I see
