  1. Whooping Cough.
    Miss O'Connor remembers breed being given an ass + crumbs remaining were given to child with cough as being a sure cure.
    A sick child with cough was sometimes put in under the belly of an ass to cure it
    Jaundice :
    Ganders dung mixed with herbs and beer. Miss Dempsey living near Blackwater School- (Miss Dempsey The hill) is well known as having the cure for sufferers.
    Miss O Connors says a man named Stephens who lived near Oulart was a great man for curing. He cured a lame girl in the foll. way :- The girl had to remain all night in Stephen's House. Then he prepared a meal of meat, potatoes + cabbage, laid the table, placing a knife + fork for two, and a knife only for a third person. Then he opened the door + called out for two men to enter + the three sat down. "I have no fork" said one of the men who entered. "Get a fork for yourself"
