  1. The local fairs are held in Arva, Granard, Cavan, Longford, Drumlish and other towns near us. The fairs are mostly held in towns. It is said that buyers transacted business in the country and also at farmers' houses. This custom lasted only a few years. My Father told me that there were two hills near Killeshandra where fairs used to beheld and that they are held there yet. There are special places for horses sheep cattle and pigs are sold. The bargain is made by clapping each other on the hands
