  1. One time there was a man taken by the fairies. His brother and another man heard of an old woman who lived down in Leitrim. The two men went down to her and told her about the fairies taking his brother. She told them to go to a certain fort at a certain hour of the night and that nine hours would go out on the gap would be their brother. She told one of them to stand each side of the gap and not to attempt to take him if they weren't sure of him. They went to take him but they didn't get him one of the fairies said
    "Your a good soldier, Kane, if it wears well with you". He went to bed and never got up out of bed till he died.
