  1. There is a lot of old houses in the district. There are ruins of an old house beside our house where two aunts of mine lived years till their deaths over twelve years ago. Some of the walls are standing there yet. We brought the stones home and put them in outhouses. We also took the furniture. It was built of stones and mortar and cement. The floor was paved with cement. The first person who lived in it was my fathers father who died years ago. Long ago a crowd of people would gather up and they would play cards in it at night. They kept up this custom until the house [?]
