There was a bush along the Ballyduffy road and it was called the mile bush because it was exactly three miles from Arva three miles from Carrigallen a mile from Drumury bridge and a mile from Bellinebber bridge. It was an enormous white thorn bush and a man in this townland went to cut it for fire wood and he lost the power of his arms and never regained it till the day he died.
