  1. Small mud wall houses were very numerous in former times. There was an old house on the old road convenient to Moyne Chapel. It was very small. There was only one apartment in it. It was a very low house thatched with rushes, an old woman named Anne Creamer lived in it. There was a barrel for a chimney on it. There was no glass in the window. A bag hung over the window at night. When morning came the bag was taken down.
