    has to be paid on his cattle. The man that buys the cattle has to pay the toll. It is also the rule when a person is selling a calf or anything the man that buys the calf or what ever it is has to get back a luckpenny. Some people give back a crown and others give back a half crown. Some people are very mean about giving back a luckpenny. The bargain is made this way. A man stands there with whatever he has to sell and then a buyer comes along. He asks how much for the cow or what ever it is. Then the buyer bids him something smaller than what he asks. There is generally another man there when the bargain is being made. Sometimes the buyers bids him a crown or something smaller than what he asks. Then they clap hands
