  1. Shops are not so common nowadays compared to long ago. Long ago people generally went to the nearest town to buy their goods.
    Money was not always given for goods. Sometimes eggs, butter or potatoes were given. Nowadays people bring eggs to the shop and get groceries instead.
    Long ago when a man wanted potatoes he got them from some man in the district and he worked for him a certain number of days until he had paid for the potatoes in this way.
    If a man went out to sell a horse he oftentimes exchanged him for another horse. The man who had the better horse got extra money along with
