  1. Once upon a time there was a boy who wished to get married. One night his mother told him to go out and look for a wife.
    He did so, and had not gone very far when he met a company of very small horsemen. With the man on the last horse was a beautiful girl, and when the boy was passing the little man, he snapped the girl and brought her home.
    Then he and his mother began asking her questions but she did not answer them.
    The boy went out again that night, and as it was raining heavily he stepped in under a bush.
    While there he heard a voice in the bush say, "I wonder will the boy find out what we put in the girl's hair so as to make her dumb".
    The boy was very glad on hearing that. He went home and told
