  1. There was once a man whose name was Bill Corcoran. He went to a house where they had a piece of calf for their dinner and turnips. They gave Bill a bit and a whole lot of turnips. He ate it all very quickly, and he then asked the woman of the house had she any more, and if she had to throw him a bit. She said, "If you got any more, the calf would be bawlin in your belly." "It wouldn't be for the want of turnips he'd be bawlin," said Bill.
