    A very long time ago there was a man and he had to pass through a graveyard to go to his work.

    A very long time ago there was a man and he had to pass through a graveyard to go to his work. When he used to be going home at night in the winter it used to be very dark. He was a very nervous man, and was afraid of the dark.
    When he used to get inside the gate of the graveyard he started to pray. This is what he used to say, "The Lord have mercy on all the dead Protestants and Catholics." He kept saying this until he got safely out of the graveyard.

    There were two men once.

    There were two men once. One of them said to the other, If you go into the graveyard to night after dark and bring me a skull out of the vault I'll give you ten pounds. This vault is in the middle of the graveyard. After nightfall he went into the vault, but the other man was hiding and shouted
