    If a tenant was unable to pay the rent, he, with all his family were cast out on the road-side, there, to bear the cold and frosty weathr. When such a tenant was evicted the landlords were bycotted - so called because it was started by a Captain Bycot - that is all other tenants were forbidden to do any work for this landlord or if any person took possession of the evicted. Tenants land he too bycotted.
    Again if a tenant improved his lands his rent was raised and the poor tenant was bravely able to out his living and was unable to meet this in-
