    That was the notice which attracted my attention a few weeks ago as I glanced through the "Irish Press" while the white-washed kitchen was aglow with the homely light of the brightly-burning turf.
    Ah! yes the sufferings of the poor Irish people long ago were unlimited. Very few of them could pay the rent, and could call the land on which they lost the sweat of their brow their own, they were only tenants working for their landlords. The majority of their landlords were cruel hard-hearted men who cared little for the patriotic peasants.
