  1. Once upon a time there lived an old woman who had a daughter and a step-daughter. She was very cruel to her step-daughter and very kind to her daughter.
    One day she send he step-daughter out to the woods to gather sticks. When the child was out in the wood, she came to an old cottage, and an old woman lived therein.
    When the old woman saw the child she asked her to help her to clean the cottage, the child agreed. When the house was cleaned the old woman thanked the child by giving her a magic power. This power was, every word the child spoke drops of gold fell from her mouth. The mother was very vexed at this. She sent her own daughter out to see if she could get the same benefit. But the child would
