  1. 4. Marriages begin in Shrove which is three weeks after "Twelfth day." On Shrove Tuesday everyone gets married and then the Holy season of Lent is in. It is unlucky to get married in Lent. If you were going to get married in Lent you should get a certificate from the Parish Priest or the Bishop.
    It is a local custom at weddings to have a dance the night of the wedding or the month Sunday, it is also called the "Hauling home." The party after the wedding generally go for a drive, or some rich people go to some big city for their honey-moon. Then the "Hauling home" is held.
