  1. At the town of Rathkeale behind the back of the Court House the remains of an old school house is still to be seen and a man taught there by Mr Darby Donovan and he taught my grand father.
    There is a new house built by Mr Dan Culhane who owns the place now.
    Mr Donovan charged two pence a head and each boy brought a few sods of turf to keep a fire down.
