    There are flour angels above my head
    St Matthew, St Mark, St Luke and St John
    God bless the bed that I lie on.
    And if I die before I sleep
    I pray to God my soul to keep.
    And if I die before I wake
    I pray to God my soul to take.
    To be said when lying in bed.

    In the name of Our Lord Jesus Christ Crucified
    I lay me down to rest
    Bless me O Lord, defend and protect me
    And after this short and miserable pilgrimage
    Bring me to ever lasting happiness. Amen

    A Íosa bheannuighthe
    Sábhail ar m'anam bocht
    Saor ó'n bpeachadh sinn
    'S ó smaointhe malluighthe
    Ó bás obann
    Ó bhreith damantha
    Ó's Tú a ceannuigh sinn
    Gura tú glacfidh sinn
