  1. Long ago there was a Saint living in Cullen which is in Millstreet Parish.
    Her name was Saint Lothern.
Each morning she used go to the smith for seed and she was always barefoot. She used take the fire in her apron. One morning she came as usual for the seed.
The smith gave her the fire and said "What lovely feet you have"
She grew very proud and looked at her feet. No sooner had she done so that her apron went on fire.
She then said that never again would be heard the sound of an anvil in Cullen and ever since a smith has not lived there
