    Farewell to the schoolmates I left in Rathmore
    And to the Nohovilldaly that was once dear to me
    My friends and relations round Knocknagree
    Tis on them I'll wonder wherever I'll roam
    And my mind it will wander when far from my home
    Farewell and adieu unto each smiling lass
    With whom I had many a pint and a glass
    Farewell to the graves of Sweet Coomlogane
    The pone and the castle to the east of Drishane
    And charming Mount Leader with its murmuring rill
    Where the tapering cedar grows tall o'er the hill.
    And now to Killmeedy that romantic place
    That stands to attractive to the traveller's gaze.
    With its eye on the castle wall that was built in days of yore
    By that once proud leader called McCarthy More
    The West Clara mountains come next to
