  1. The parish of Dromtariffe was always noted for great athletes. There was a great football team in this parish in the year 1893. They played in Dublin against Wexford in the all Ireland final
    Patrick Callaghan (and) Knockanroe and Con Kelly Meenskeha played with Dromtariffe in that final in 1893. Five minutes from the start of the match a fight started and the match was given to Wexford. Denis Riordan of Farrendoyle played with Dromtariffe against the Nils the all Ireland champions and
