They are harmful because they spread rapidly and impoverish the soil. The weeds that grow only in good land are thistles, dock leaves and horse buttons. The weeds that grow in poor land are chicken weeds, praiseac weed, dandelion, nettles. A dock leaf is a cure for a sting of a nettle. The dandelion is supposed to cure rheumatism. The root of it is baked and made into powder like tea. The leaf of the dandelion eaten raw is good for the blood and diseases of the stomach. Nettles are boiled like cabbage and are eaten for food. They are supposed to be good for the blood because they contain
