  1. Song

I am a young damsel that lived here in Bondage The truth I will never deny...

    Tógadh síos ó bhéal-aithris
    Seamus Mac Cárthaigh
    Beal átha Finghín
    Co. Corcaighe. (70)
    Saor adhmaid.
Tógadh annso e agus chaith sé a shaol ann.
This song was made by a poet that lived in Enniskean named John Crowley.
The girl's name was Bailey. She turned and went into a Convent.
It isn't known what the boy’s name was.
I am a a young damsel that lived here in bondage
The truth I will never deny
That lately fell in love with a young Collegian
In Carlow College he did lie
Mine eyes they grew dim and my spirits I did lose
When first I did hear of the sad and heavy news
That I then for ever more my darling should lose
My beautiful and bold Trainer O
I'll write a petition and send it to the bishop
In order to stop his career
I knew his intention and he was determined
The blessed robes to wear speedily
