/5/ flour in the cover of a pot. It is left there until it is brown, then it is put to the person's leg. This is very good for the leg if it is swollen. There is another cure for a sore leg also, and that is, soap and sugar mixed together. If you burned your hand with a red iron, soap is usually rubbed to it. Then soda is got and put on the burn. Another cure is if you had a wart in your hand to get blue-stone, and put it in water for a few hours. Then put the water down on the wart and keep rubbing it for a long time. After a few days you will see the the wart will be burned off. Salt is also a good cure for toothache. The fat of a Stork is very good for rheumatism, and paraffin oil is used very much in this part of the country. If a person's nose was bleeding a cold stone is put to the person's back and it stops the nose bleeding.
