    townland. It lies three miles north east of Ballinameen.
    Sráidín is the name still given to a small portion of Carkfree. Very old men say there were eleven cabins there about one hundred years ago - hence the name.
    Máinfhéir Bán, a name still given to a meadow field in the townland of Tartan. This meadow produces a grey or whitish coloured grass hence the name.
