She wrote other poems including "The dawning of the day".(5) Nicholas Fleming of Russelstown, the Rower was a poet. He wrote a poem "the asses of Ballylogue" and also poems about the beauty of Woodstock.
- Nine families emigrated from Brownsbarn during the famine times. There was a street of houses there and the place in which the houses were is called "the street field".
The Lanigans of Kilcullen emigrated to America in 1848.
