    The potato crop that grow best in this district is the Main Crop. The are planted in drills. Iron ploughs are used to make the drills. Before they are planted they are cut in halves. They are sometimes kept in pits in fields but more ofteh in out houses. The were often used instead of starch. The names of the varieties of potatoes that grow this district are the Main Crop Irish Queens British Queens and Scotch Champions.
