  1. The local fair is held in Cootehill on the third Friday of every month. People who have cattle for sale go to the fair very early in the morning. The dealers come out from the towns to meet the cattle sometimes they buy on the road to the fair and re - sell the animals later in the day.
Some twenty years ago fairs were held in Newbliss, Rockcorry and Drum, they were discontinued for want of dealers coming. When an animal is sold it is marked on the back with a blue or red keil [b?] There are two bonham fairs in Cootehill the first and third Friday of every month.
