    Convulsions eclipsed them, their eyes burned grey
    Sent Rice a free challenge for the 25th day
    I cannot describe what I seen with my eyes
    The true sons of Paddy would dazzle your eyes
    They were well decorated, with a splendid brass band
    "Step forth" was the the word, & "remember brave Dan"
    The name of the headman I cannot well tell
    Commanded the army 'gainst the d_____ imps of hell.
    Arraigned them in battle, stand guns in the front
    Come bayonets here? hereafter, blackthorns not blunt
    Says Blayney to Bothwell that day's long gone by
    When you or your Orange force they could make us fly
    The great lord lieutenant we have his grand aid
