  1. In Kelly's "Well Field" Annacramp there was an open air school. After that they held school in Kelly's barn. It was the same teacher. He stopped in an adjoining house - now a hen house. They wrote on slates. In the open air school they sat on the bank beside the hedge. Edward McClusky, Killyneil, whose father knew the teacher says that only writing was taught.
    Mrs McClusky (above) remembers a school in Lappin's Barn, Alkill. The teacher's name was Donal Lappin.
    In Arthur McGuinness', where James Gilliland lives now in Annacramp, there was a school. The teacher stopped in house where James Mullen lives in Carrokeel. It was a doctor owned that place. He stopped with the doctor.
