    But when young Arthur Bond gave a crack of his whip,
    Over high, lows and levels "Kate Kearney" did skip.
    When Arthur had scarcely rode an Irish half-mile,
    Says he to "Kate Kearney" you go in great style;
    I’ll raise you up high and you'll skip like a hare,
    And the crowd will all cheer, "Here comes Arthur Bond’s mare”.
    When Arthur was coming near the winning post,
    He called for the cup, until he'd drink a toast.
    "Here’s a health to "Kate Kearney" and may she win still,
    She’s the first brought the cup to the shades of Bondville”.
    When Arthur came home all with the glad news,
    Say's his aged mother did you win or lose,
