  1. A Song (continued)

Pat fell sick one a time and sent for the priest

    (continued from previous page)
    forgiven
To think that there are drinkers curousing
    in Heaven
O Dear me said Pat, I cannot help
    thinking.
That in Heaven they can do without
    eating or drinking
Though I don't mean to say what you
    tell is a fable
It would be decent you know to see
    a drop on the table

  2. Thomas Dooner who lived in the parish of Bornacoola was a very smart county man. Once he made an appointment with a certain man to meet him at a neighbour's house. Thomas landed at the house but there was no one there. The man of the house was away and Thomas turned back again and went home. After some time he wrote a letter to the man who disappointed him and it began thus : -
Just at 6 30 in the torrents of rain
Never in your life shall you fool me again
The night it was dark blowing desperate hard
The door only latched and [Rap?] was on guard
