  1. I live in a townland.
    And we all know it well.
    And from the flowers that grow in it
    There comes a fragrant smell.
    II
    Beneath its hilltops stands a lake.
    Smooth are its waters, though noise they can make.
    Calm are the breezes that fan our cheeks.
    But oft times shelter we have to seek.
    III
    There are many gay children in this townland.
    And many a time they gather on the strand.
    Here they make castles and play many games.
    Admired especially by a grey haired old dame.
    IIII
    Rabbits and hares some wild and some tame.
    May be seen frisking in fields or bog lanes.
    Cloonbroney has all that nature can claim
