    My Townland in verse: Dromod
    Dromod is the town of my birth palce
    Near Dromod Mor
    It is in a cosy spot down near
    The Shannon shore.

    In this village there are four shops
    Also a barrack for detectives
    And cops
    III
    There are a forge Post Office and hall,
    And of you want a motor car on Diffley you can call.
    IIII
    If you require a blacksmith call down the Shannon lane.
    Or if you want to go abroad you
    Will get the midland train.
    V
    There is a little bank in it
    And it is very small,
    Its only opened on Tuesday
