    Were captured by the foe.
    And Jimmy Joy that powerful boy
    Who broke the English law,
    Would die to see his country free
    With the Boys of Sweet Duagh.

    What could our heroes do?
    I'm proud to say one Kerryman,
    The soldiers he broke through.
    He warned his comrades in the rear
    And told them what he saw,
