  1. A man lived in my district long ago by the name of John Sheehy. He was a great mower and had great powers of endurance. He was very quick too for mowing.
    In his time there were no mowing-machines but scythes and sickles. He was very good at mowing with either the scythe or the sickle, and often spent weeks mowing from morning until night, and it was often that his arms were swollen from his shoulders down to his wrists, but he would never give up.
