  1. 1. In this district we have several sections of travelling people calling on us every day. There are several families of them. Those who call oftenest are, the O'Briens, Coffeys, mc.Carthys, and Sheridans.
    Each family has a caravan, which they draw up at a sheltered side of the road, and the women of the party go from house to house selling laces, pins, studs, pictures, camphor and other small articles, which they get at the larger shops.
