    and fell from the top of the thirty foot wall. For the rest of his life Church had a lame leg or a stiff leg. Church is dead about 20 years and died an old man.
    Morrison got down from the top of the wall and after poor Burchell's body was buried in quick time he rushed in and implored the hangman to give him a bit of the rope.
    The hangman did so, and Morrison put it in his pocket and started for home.
    On his way home, he called at a house to rest himself. Here was a fairly young woman sitting in the corner with her leg resting on a stool.
    "What ails you good woman? said Mrrison
    "[?] I am suffering from the running soar" said the woman.
    "And can nothing cure you said Morrison
    "No child, nothing until God calls me home" said she.
    Then Morrison thought of the piece of rope he had in his pocket and forthwith drew it out.
